South School's Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students, along with Mrs. Leppert, have been working hard to prepare for their upcoming spring programs.

South School celebrated the Week of the Young Child this week! Students created artwork that was displayed throughout the halls, the Pittsfield Public library set up a Story Walk outside, Sensory blocks and building toys were brought in from the Quincy Children's Museum, and the Scholastic Book Fair was available during library times and family nights.
After completing a bowling unit in P.E., Mrs. Marable organized a Bowling Family Night for South's 1st and 2nd grade families. Thank you to Mrs. Marable for all of the work that went into creating this opportunity and to all of the families that joined us at the event.

The Disney Fun Fair was a success! Thank you to the Little Braves Boosters for all of the planning and preparation that went into to making this a memorable night for so many of our Little Braves!

South School students enjoyed a Mad Science Assembly last week! They learned about making a hypothesis when working with the elements of fire, air, and water and were able to participate in several experiments.
Thank you to the Little Braves Boosters for sponsoring the afternoon assembly and the Pikeland Preschool Grant for sponsoring the Preschool Family Night assembly.

South School is having a Sports Day on Friday, February 7. For $.50 students can wear their favorite sports gear with proceeds benefitting the Pittsfield D.A.R.E. program!
