Horatio Alger Association Scholarship For the senior student who will be completing a bachelor's degree after high school at any college/university. Student may begin at a 2 year college and transfer to complete bachelors degree.  Must demonstrate financial need with AGI $55,000.00 or under.  Involvement in activities, integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity are all factors along with GPA of 2.0 or better.  Online applications are at

AES Scholarship For the senior and current college student who will or currently is furthering their education after high school.  Student doesn't have to be taking engineering courses to apply but must be considered a future leader across a wide spectrum of fields of study.  Character and essay will be determining factors.  An actual scholarship packet/application isn't available at this time.  Submit essay to: scholarships@aesengineers.com. 10/6/16
We the Students Essay Contest sponsored by The Bill of Rights Institute and is open to students who are in grades 8 - 12. 2/5/17
JWCC Foundation Scholarships The JWCC scholarship booklet is available for any student that will be attending JWCC in the fall of 2017.  3/3/17
CBAI Foundation for Community Banking Scholarship For the senior who will write an essay about the importance of community banking to the local economy.  Students who have a family member affiliated with a bank are ineligible to apply.  We do have local banks that sponsor this scholarship.  12/15/16
Hagan Scholarship Foundation Scholarship For the senior who has a GPA of 3.50 or higher, an ACT score of 23 or higher, works at least 240 hours in the 12 months prior to beginning college in the fall of 2017, plans to attend a 4 year college in the fall of 2017, and will have filed the most recent FAFSA. Co-op Scholarships
For the seniors who receive IREC power services at home, employees' or directors' children may apply for these scholarships.  There is an online application process this year and that is https://aiec.coop/iec-scholarship.  Other instructions are in the guidance office.  12/31/16
The American Legion Scholarships For the senior who is the child or grandchild of a veteran.  Several scholarships are involved in this application.  3/15/17
Illinois AMVETS Scholarships For the senior who will be furthering their education after high school.  This application involves several scholarships (for a student going to a 2 or 4 year school, trade schools, nursing school, ROTC)  3/1/17
Illinois AMVETS Service Foundation Veteran's Scholarship For the veteran returning to college.  Student doesn't have to be a freshman and can be enrolling in 2 or 4 year schools, vocational or technical school. 3/1/17
The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship For the student who is under the age of 20 years old.  The purpose of this contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States, develop leadership and the ability to speak and think clearly and intelligently.  12/15/16
Illinois Retired Teachers Association Foundation, Inc For the upcoming Fall, 2017 junior or senior in college who has been accepted into a Teacher Certification Program.  Applications and guidelines may be found at the IRTA website, www.irtaonline.org 3/7/17
Aspiring Nurse Scholarship For the senior who has shown an excellent science and math track record in high school and is heading towards a college nursing degree.  Applications may be found at www.nursingschoolalmanac.com and click the banner on the right hand side of the homepage for the online application.  6/30/17

Illinois Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship For the senior student who will be continuing their education after high school.  Awards are based on financial need, GPA of "C" average or better and personal statement. 3/1/17

America's Farmers Grow Ag Leaders Scholarship This Scholarship is sponsored by Monsanto and the senior must be pursuing an Ag or Ag-related field of study.  Online applications are available at FFA.org/scholarships. 2/1/17
National Defense Transportation Association Scholarship For the senior who will be entering college pursuing a career in Business, Transportation Logistics and Physical Distribution. 3/1/17
Pikeland Foundation Scholarships For the senior or college student who will be entering or is already attending a 4 year college/university.  Leadership, service to school & community, character, financial aid and the desire to further their education are the eligibility requirements. 3/31/17
Florence Penstone Garson Scholarship For the senior female who is pursuing an education or education-related degree.  3/1/17
Irvin Dean Franklin Memorial Scholarship For the senior or college student who has a desire to further their education and has shown a commitment to service and leadership.  4/1/17
Illini Community Hospital Scholarship For the senior who is planning to study any health care field.  Activities, desire of career and interview are all eligibility requirements.  4/4/17
CBAI Foundation for Community Banking Scholarship Carlinville National Bank has extended their deadline for submission of these applications to their locations until Friday, January 20th.  Please see instructions in the guidance office. 1/20/17

National Wild Turkey Federation Scholarship For the Pike County senior who demonstrates a commitment to conservation and preserving our hunting heritage.  Dedication, commitment, essay, activities and GPA are all eligibility requirements. 2/15/17
Abbott & Fenner Scholarship Program For the senior or college student who is committed to a desire and ambition to succeed.  An essay is to be submitted to scholarship@abbottandfenner.com by June 12.  Essay should be between 500 and 1000 words on the subject of "Describe your educational career and life goals.  Explain your plan for achieving these goals.  Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals."  6/12/17
Parentinn-Cyberbullying Prevention for Teens Scholarship For the high school, college student, or grad student who will be or is currently pursuing a college education.  All participants will research and submit an essay on the topic "Why and How to Stop Cyberbullying".  Submission of your essay will be to scholarship@parentinn.com 2/28/17

IAA Foundation For the senior who will be pursuing an Ag or Ag-related field of study in college.  There are several scholarships within this application.  2/1/17
Charles "Chief" Ferguson Scholarship For the PHS senior or current college student who graduated from PHS and is an FFA member.  First preference will be an Ag Education major with secondary preference being a major in any Ag field.  5/1/17
Illinois Sheriffs' Association For the senior or college student who will be or is currently enrolled in an Illinois college.  There aren't any major restrictions to apply.  3/15/17
The PHS Class of 1954 Scholarship For the PHS senior who will be attending any 2 or 4 year college/university after graduation.  Student may be pursuing any major.  4/1/17
Baxter Memorial Scholarship For the senior who will be enrolling in an Engineering or Technical program at a four-year college or university after high school.  3/3/17
BETA SIGMA PSI Educational Foundation Scholarship For the senior male student who is a confirmed member of the Lutheran Church and who will be attending U of I, Indiana University or Purdue University in the Fall of 2017. 2/17/17
Barber Family Foundation Scholarship For the senior or college student who will be pursuing an education after high school.  Academics, extra-curricular activities, essay and financial need are all factors for this scholarship. 3/31/17
Barber Family Foundation Recreational Program Scholarship For the person under 25 years of age who will be attending any type of program, camp, activity, etc this summer that may require financial assistance.  3/31/17

McDonald's Scholarships For the senior who currently has a job.  Also based on extra-curricular activities.  GPA of "C" or better is required.  4/1/17

Friends of Ag Scholarship For the senior who will be majoring in Ag.  Must be involved in FFA.  4/1/17
Ty Rylander Memorial Scholarship For the senior who will be pursuing an Ag or Ag-related degree.  Must be an FFA member.  4/1/17
George & Hazel Barber Scholarship For the senior who has an ACT of 21 or higher.  Academics, character, and financial need are requirements.  4/1/17
Dolores Cox Nursing Scholarship For the senior who exemplifies Saukee Pride, Spirit, Drive and Dedication.  Student must be pursuing a nursing degree after high school.  4/1/17
Pittsfield Lions Club Scholarship For the well-rounded senior who will be enrolling in any program after high school and is willing to return to Pike County to work and live.  Academics, leadership, character, perseverance and good works are all factors considered.  4/1/17
We Grow Dreams Scholarship For the senior who will be pursuing a degree in either Agriculture, Conservation, Real Estate or Wildlife Biology after high school.  This is an online form.  Please ask the guidance office to forward you the forms.  3/1/17
Illinois Masonic Scholarships For the senior or college student who is pursuing a college degree.  The student may be pursuing any degree.  4/1/17
Pike County HCE Scholarship For the senior or college student with a "C" average and has participated in 4-H for 4 years or more.  4/1/17
Illinois Association of HCE Scholarship For the senior or college student whose mother or grandmother is an active member (or deceased member) in HCE within the State of Illinois.  Student may be pursuing any degree at any college.  5/1/17

Wade Foundation Scholarship For the senior or college student who shows strength in character, motivation, extra-curricular activities, and academics.  Students must reside in Pike, Calhoun, Scott, Greene or Adams county as a permanent resident but may attend any college with any intended major.  Special consideration will be given to students pursuing a degree in natural science and/or reside in Pike County.  5/12/17

Pittsfield Fire Department Scholarship For the senior has been active in community service, been an active contributor to a Fire, Law Enforcement, or EMS Fund Raising or Community Personal Relations event.  The ideal candidate should be majoring in a career of Protective Services. (Fire, Law Enforcement, EMS or Medical Services fields)  Preference may be given to a member's child that selects a Major other than Protective Services.  4/1/17
